Are there any social justice causes you're personally active in, or, at least interested in?
It took me a long time to come to terms with the fact that I am a feminist. That term has been transformed in a negative way but I believe that anyone who is passionate about promoting equality for all in not just the work place but throughout society is a feminist. I also fully support LGBTQ+ and people of colour equality groups as well. I have not personally experienced these groups' struggles but do what I can to be an ally and support them in any way I can. I am a part of a women in trades mentorship group where we provide a safe space to speak about our experiences and problems and work together to find solutions.
I also enjoy participating in fundraising activities such as the coldest night of the year, tough mudder, mudderella, and other similar events. I enjoy getting the opportunity to not only raise money but to spread awareness and show support as well. I am always interested to learn more about different activist groups and to find out the interesting and inspiring ways they have helped our world.
