Kamloops Voter asks the City Councillor Candidates
Do you consider yourself:
A) Leader
B) Team player
C) Lone wolf
Explain
William James Turnbull
The Mayoral Candidates weren't asked, but I'm going to answer anyway... D) All of the Above. I'm a natural leader. To be leader, I need to be a team player or they will find a new leader. If something is important enough I will break away from the back an get r done.
Corally Delwo
I would consider myself a leader and a team player. I am a take charge kind of person when things need to get done. I also keep an open mind to those who I work with. I am not afraid to ask for help and am grateful to those who are willing to step up with me and get things accomplished. I am not one to be the be all end all of problem solving and have always believed that two heads are better than one.
Alison Klie
I am a bit of all three. I feel that it is important to be flexible in the way you look at a situation. Depending on what needs to get done I will gladly take on the responsibility to do it myself, lead others, or listen to directions. Whatever role I need to play I guarantee you it will be with enthusiasm and determination.
Beat Klossner
Leader, an ability to assign a tasks to the most capable persons, encourage them, and so achieve the best possible results. A good idea, an issue that has to be dealt with means to me finding a way to get it done.

I consider myself a leader, as well as a team player and I, think both of those are important qualities to have. I think the goal should always be to work as a team to come to better solutions that suit all of Kamloops but in the absence of support perhaps it's important to know how to take initiative on your own.
My needle buy-back trial is a good example of what can be done with or without city support.
Nicholas Adams
I have considered myself a leader for most of my life. I strongly believe however, that before you can lead, you must be able to follow. Therefore I am definitely a team player.
Bill Sarai
My answer is B, I believe working with a team for a common good is satisfying for all involved. 1 person can’t get everything done alone , especially in politics

If there was a D. all of the above option, I would choose that one as my answer is--it depends. It depends on situation and context. An introvert by nature, I relish quiet time and have no problem being on my own "lone wolfing" it. I also take the reigns and lead when it is appropriate for me to do so. I'm willing to take control and be a strong voice when needed. I'd say I most often fall into the team player category as I believe it takes an array of perspectives to create a whole. We get a lot farther in building community when we work together in the same direction than we do on our own.
Kerri Schill
A leader and a team player. In order to build a solid educational foundation, many partnerships must come together. Relationship building between these partnerships is imperative. Government, school boards, unions and teachers must co-operate for the betterment of public education and our children. A breakdown in this relationship can cause a trickle-down effect of cutbacks and distrust. This eventually affects the quality of public education and ultimately the student learning environment.
Chris Bose
I would consider myself a community leader and team player, one of my sayings "team work makes the dream work" works, because I have led many large scale community creative projects and workshops and great things happen when people of all genders, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, youth and seniors, adults, students and more work together on a project. Dialogue happens, friendships are created and great things happen in the community!
Dale Bass
I'd have to say all three. It really just depends on the circumstances.
Jennifer Adams
I think I am a little of all three. I am definitely a leader, I am not afraid to push forward without direction or instruction, I do not sit on fences and am not afraid to take a stand. I can be an effective team player, but, prefer to lead. I consider myself a lone wolf, an alpha lone wolf. I am not afraid to stand alone and will put myself in the line of fire to protect the pack.
Denis Walsh
