I choose Denis Walsh as my City Councillor because he doesn’t shy away from hard topics. He is willing to question provincial and even national motivations, keeping these levels of government aware of what matters for the quality of life of Kamloops residents. We need leaders who are willing to put themselves out there, say what no one else is saying, take a forward-thinking way of advocating not only for the Kamloops of today but also the Kamloops of a hundred years from now. I first met Bill a couple of years ago. It seems about the only place I see him is at city meetings or other public events, listening and learning and getting a feel for the community. What’s more important, an individual building the economy or the economy building individuals? We have plenty of leadership in multiple sectors integrating innovative ideas that in turn bolster our community. I am very grateful for these people and excited for the next 10 years in Kamloops. If a mayor thinks they can lead with change in these areas in mind, I think they are mistaken these areas are thriving and healthy. There is however growing disparity and uncertainty surrounding the health of individuals in our community. How is it ok to celebrate the wins of economic growth on one corner, when on a corner across the street people are facing seemingly insurmountable challenges such as accessing shelter, food, and health care? Therefore in my eyes a direct approach needs to be undertaken to get people housed and I think this is the best solution for our community. If we can come together to solve one of the largest crisis of our time, then I think we can accomplish anything as a community. This is exactly why I am endorsing Mr.Turnbull. He will tackle an incredibly challenging task head on and I think he has the gumption needed to see it through.
Let’s stop this collective cognitive dissonance once and for all where we think one part of our home bing on fire is ok if another part isn’t. If there is disease in a body going unchecked. We are a body of people so let’s act like it!

I have complete trust in William James Turnbull's ability to represent our city as mayor. His work as president of the downtown neighborhood association demonstrates an ability to conduct meetings, advocate for others, and work cooperatively to get things accomplished.

What I like about Bill personally is his empathy and compassion for all people. His sense of humour and welcoming attitude would set a more positive tone at City Hall. With that infectious energy I believe he can be the leader that redoubles our efforts to address crime, homelessness, and the opioid drug crisis.

I came to know William long before he ran for election this year. Through reaching out to find active ways to help our community from the ground up, not the outside in. From the times where he clearly sees something that needs doing and finds a way to do it, to the ones where he gets involved as part of the bigger team, he's proven himself over and over to me to the not only a great candidate for mayor but also the type of person I want in any high position in the city. At least one of our mayoral candidates is honest.

I support Denis because of the dedication and respect he affords the council position that he has been elected to serve in. He has genuine respect for the citizens of Kamloops and raises their concerns at council on a regular basis. Whether you agree or disagree with his views, I don't think anyone can disagree with the fact that he is one of the hardest-working elected officials in Kamloops. That gets my vote.

All the times I spoken with Dennis, he understood the concern and did what he could to resolve it.

John O'Fee was a school trustee and Chair of the Board of Education in 1993, the year I was first elected. It was a pleasure working with John. As a Chair he was a generous and even handed. He has a very good understanding of the role of a school trustee and is a strong advocate for our dynamic public education system. John brings to the table a wealth of experience and knowledge. I am very pleased to endorse John O'Fee for school trustee.

Nicholas has long been a contributor to this city. He donates many, many hours as a hard-working volunteer. He looks for ways to make things better for people. Nicholas is energetic, innovative and committed. I know he would make an excellent city council member for Kamloops.

I have come to appreciate John’s professional approach to education having taken several of his courses here at TRU. He demonstrates to me that he is a person who cares about students and wants to see them succeed.

I have known Alison Klie since the day she was born. Caring, loving, confident but shy her whole life. Alison became a woman in the trades and realized the shy might have to go to survive. Awesome Alison shed the shy, painful at times, in a mam dominated work force. She wants to be the voice for those who want to be heard. Alison loves this city and wants it to grow and thrive. Alison Klie is a strong-willed, hardworking, and compassionate person. Beat's shown a commitment to fighting for equality and the rights of all people and I am absolutely confident that he will bring this conscientious attitude to our school board so that all our kids get the best possible chance to succeed in our schools and society. Beat's also done a lot of work to reach out to the various communities and staff of our school district and should be commended for taking their concerns to heart and committing to having them addressed.

I feel that Dennis is a solid person with a good mind for business that will provide some new ideas for investments into our community.

John will bring his outstanding leadership skills, his high level of professionalism and his passion and knowledge for education to the Kamloops-Thompson School Board. As a former Board Chair and School Trustee, John was very well respected and was always a strong advocate for all students. He will be a tremendous asset to the Board.

As a Councilor, Denis has consistently demonstrated a high level of engagement in decisions that impact the design and livability of our community. I applaud his genuine interest and continuing commitment in municipal affairs that affect the long-term sustainability of a city we can all be proud of.

Denis has shown that he is one of the few councillors who takes the time to do his homework, reflect on the issues at hand and ask meaningful questions when required. Bill's time spent deeply involved among members of the community on a daily basis with his role at Canada Post will serve Kamloops proud when he is hopefully elected to Kamloops City Council. He cares to the core about Kamloops and its citizens and wants City Hall to be better at being transparent and fiscally responsible.

Bill believes in building up and maintaining infrastructure in Kamloops which has greatly lacked in recent years. People need sidewalks in all neighbourhoods, roads free of pot holes for the safety of our cyclists and drivers as well as increased snow removal in the winter so our parents and seniors can safely get around and make appointments.

A vote for Bill Sarai is a vote for positive change in Kamloops. He undoubtedly has my vote and if you've ever talked to Bill I'm sure he'll have yours as well. As a Kamloops resident and voter, I am casting my ballot for Sadie Hunter. Sadie's connection to the community in her role at TRU and her support for the technology sector is how I came to know her. When we first met, she spoke passionately about a new TRU nursing building and from that point on, I knew this was a serious individual.

That combined with her well-articulated and strong support for the underserved portions of Kamloops, shows her dedication to being a positive voice for all people in the community and it has won my support.

I believe she will be a true advocate for the entire city, and that she will help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to maximize their potential. I wish her the very best in this election and urge my Kamloops neighbors to cast their vote for Sadie Hunter.

Who better to represent the people of Kamloops than someone who has been investigating the major issues in the city and bringing forward the concerns and needs of those who live within it as a local journalist and social advocate for so many years? I have lived in Kamloops since 1970. In that time I have seen our city grow. Kamloops is a great place to live. I have had my business here for over forty years and have done very well locally. My company has always tried to be a strong corporate citizen, helping various organizations here in Kamloops. Over the past four or five years, I have become increasingly concerned about the anti-business sentiment coming from our current city council. Current city council doesn’t seem to have a vision of where or how they would like to see our city develop and grow. I hear lots of rhetoric about bringing good clean high tech jobs to our community. That would be great, but we are in competition with every other community in the world for those jobs. So why would those type employers locate in our city when we consistently demonstrate an unwillingness to work with potential employers? It is time for a change on our City Council. I have met with Carol King and found her to be a woman of great passion for making things better for the people in Kamloops. She has a vision for Kamloops. “Getting to Yes”. While others talk she takes action. She has taken it upon herself to get dirty needles off the streets. She understands both the needs of Business and the plight of people struggling to get by. I am strongly endorsing Carol King for City Council. The time is now for a real change locally. Finally, whether you agree with me or not, get out and vote. Our city is worth your time and energy.

If I had to pick two adjectives to describe Sadie, they would be dedicated and community-minded. When we first crossed paths I was impressed by her commitment to, and support of, her son.
